The purpose of this survey is to gather important information related to the needs of our breastfeeding/lactating students and employees. Idaho State University is working to best support those who were, are, or may become pregnant or are managing pregnancy-related conditions, including lactation.

Under Title IX, (the federal law prohibiting sex discrimination in federally funded education programs) educational institutions are prohibited from discriminating against lactating students and requires them to provide certain adjustments to ensure that lactating students have equal access to education. One of these adjustments is providing spaces for breastfeeding or expressing breastmilk that are clean, not a bathroom, and are free from intrusion and view. Spaces must be available, functional, appropriate, and safe.
